In many words: Their effect doesn't last long. Unless you spent all day dropping tabs into the water ! As well as being impractical, I imagine it would be very expensive ! I'd also be very wary about what effect they might have on your water chemistry and any secondary problems that might crop up as a consequence.

make a co2 injector, you probably have all the suppliues you need, you only need to refill it once ever monht to 6 weeks
