Cleaning A Tank

So got my upgrade today but its got water stain all over the glass what is the best way to clean it.

I used straight vinegar. Left it on for a few minutes then scrubbed off with one of those non scratch pads. Just make sure you don't pick up any gravel on the sponge or the glass will get scratched. For the areas that were really stubborn, I used aquarium salt and scrubbed. For the stuff that just absolutely wouldn't come off, I used a razor blade(very carefully). Then rinse, rinse, rinse.

Juwel Vision 180? I like it mate. I used mr muscle glass cleaner then rinsed for about 10 minutes. Have you tried plain water?

Ok guys thanks for the replies its a vision 180 but its going to be a salty tank I just came to you lot as I assumed that you would know how to do it.

When you say salt can I use my marine salt.

We do know how to do it! Vinegar and salt, we did say

Aquarium salt wil be fine The advantage of vinegar and salt is they're water soluble and wash away easily and they're both pretty safe. I don't think I 'd recommend Mr Muscle

Why not just use janitorial strength ammonia, like the same stuff that you would use in a fishless cycle? Ammonia is a standard ingredient in most glass cleaners.

It hasn't harmed my fish in anyway what so ever hence why i suggested it.

If it's going to be salty then use the salt water suggestion.

As long as you rinse really well nearly anything water soluble can be used as long as it doesn't dissolve the silicone. You may have to hose it down outdoors for a while, start with the mildest & work your way up.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Don't fill the tank with vinegar or bye bye silicone! Just use a cloth with vinegar on it and wipe it on the glass and leave it sit for a few. Trust me it can damage silicone as when I re-siliconed my tank, I used vinegar to remove the last old bits of old silicone. But it's safe as long as the silicone isn't soaking in it.

You could but it would probably work better to go full strength and scrub a bit. I had my 140 gallon cleaned up in a matter of 2 hours with vinegar, salt and scrubbing. My tank looked worse than yours as far as water stains and sediment build up.
