Circulation pump recommendations

I have a well established 240l fluval roma.
I have had a powerhead in there from day one. I decided I wanted some smaller fish. I chose mollies.
But my problem is that 2 mollies got pulled in to powerhead.
Since this happened I'm in a bit of a dilemma.
I need circulation but don't want to harm anymore of my smaller fish.

Hi and welcome to the forum

You can buy a Quick Filter attachment to go on the intake of AquaClear powerheads. They also fit on some other brands too. They have a white cartridge in them that is useless but you can replace it with a cylindrical sponge for another brand of internal power filter. This will stop fish getting sucked in.

However, if the pump is too powerful for the tank or the fish are weak, they will still get sucked onto the Quick Filter.

Depending on tank size and the fish you keep, you could use an air pump and airstone.

Can you post pictures of the tank and tell us the dimensions (length x width x height) and what other fishes are in the aquarium?

I will post photos when I return home. I had a wavemaker. But surface agitation is sufficient. I only want circulation low down so that the detritus doesn't sit. The powerhead was over kill. Which wasn't a problem for my clown loaches and catfish. Only issue being mollies stuck to infeed.
