i guess if the fish are healthy and at a price you are happy with then the look of a place shouldnt matter. its just after going to wharf aquatice quite a bit recently and seeing all of their spotless tanks it was a bit of a shock to see dark tanks etc.... maybe its just me

probably just minimising overheads . my 2 boxes that have to be ticked are quality and price. anything else is secondary. you should of seen the dealer i got my discus from. it was literally racks of tanks in his garden shed , water all over the floor , no tank lights .............BUT , he had beautiful healthy discus and did me an amazing deal . even made me a cuppa :good:

yeah im sure this is why it was like it was as he must have had 300 + tanks, my fish seem healthy enough and like you say thats what its all about at the end of the day.
walkers fish are doing fine too so no issues with the fish.

i hope ive not put people off from going there as he has some very rare and not often available species that are decent prices :good:

id love to pay em a visit once im ready to re-stock . a bit far from me tho .

its the kind of place you could go and get every cichlid you ever wanted and totally stock any size tank in 1 trip.

i did 180 mile round trip to get there with a detour into brum to see star and collect some jacks for walkers, but worth it :good:

:shifty: YYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY

Oh you lucky swine, you are going to have to document every little issue you can, water stats, food your feeding, tank decor and mates if any, i would be soooo estatic if you managed to bag a male and a female which bred, fingers crossed, iam so happy someone managed to score some from here....pics i cannot wait to see, i know they will look nothing like the breeding dress you posted proir, but still an awsome cichlid all the same.. :good: good luck with them

i will try to give regular updates on these fish and ill get pics asap. ive turned the light on for the first time tonight so i might get some pics later. they seem less stressed than when i turned it on before so lets hope they are settling in ok :good:
i was going then changed my mind but then thought sod it why not its not very often they come around so lets do it
they seem to be eating now ive fed them brineshrimp with garlic, bloodworms and prima. they have nibbled the prima but not gone mad for it, they went a bit crazy for the bloodworms though :good:
pH is 7.6-7.8 ish and the water is medium/hard and is at 26C. a breeding pair would be awesome :hyper: but lets get them growing first

i really hope they do well

They are looking gooooood.....let me reccomend, getting some gravel or sand, anytime i kept fish in bare bottom tanks, they would feel fear of there own reflection
they are being transfered into another tank tonight thats planted full of wood and has a sand substrate :good: the ornatums seem more relaxed today so looking good.
