Chinese algae eater

Well if they attack fish then I would think they would attack a snail? Maybe..

Who knows really. Clown Loaches eat snails but mostly ignore other fish. It's not like snails and fish are a lot alike.

I've done soem research about this and it says nothing on snails but only fish it doesn't even mention snails but im not sure what to believe

I know, but wouldn't the CAE try to suck on the snail? I'm not talking about the shell, I'm talking about the actual snail.

Hi Snail

i also proud to own 2 algae eater meself but doesnt have snail lol ok but so far after watchin the algae eater they have not attack any of my tropical fishs which have 2 Silver Dollar and 2 Tiger Shark and vary of other little fishes plus have 2 black pleco with spot but not sure what they r call as have serch on net have there many look alike black plec and my best bet Snail is buy 2-3 so can school together as baby and once they r big nice size be sure have some hidin caves as those algea eater love to hide too, so buy a baby ones as they wont be any harm to the fishes while growing

I would have thought there is a good chance they'll leave the snail, it is different from fish, but I must say I have no experience of keeping them with snails. Experience with fish, yes, and not very happy- they were little sweeties until one day.... IME it has nothing to do with being brought up with other fish and being used to them. Still, of course there may be exceptions. I personally wouldn't risk it again, but you can't be 100% sure what's going to happen.

I don't think it will bother the snail much.

I have 3 CAE's in my tank with quite a few snails and the leave them alone. They land on them from time to time, but they land on everything really.

They don't bother my fish either.
