I've been trying to find a job in Cheyenne for a little over a year now and it's finally happened. :shout: Just thought I'd share some pics of my soon to be new home town that I have taken in two different trips up. :good:

First three pics are at the Terry Bison Ranch just outside of Cheyenne. It's about 30,000 acres with over 3,000 head of bison and various other animals. You can ride a small train through the herd, which I highly recommend if you ever get the chance. I didn't get any pics while on the train as I was too excited  , bison are quite impressive up close. I'm sure I'll go again once I'm living there, and will try to remember to take close up pics.

The next 8 pics are inside and outside the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens. It was still late winter/early spring so not much to see outside, but they have a great greenhouse to check out.

The first two pics are of the small lake in front of the greenhouse. It was in the upper 60's (in March) and I thought it was interesting that half the lake was still frozen.

The next four are all inside the greenhouse.

The last two are of an arch made entirely of horseshoes at one of the trail entrances.

The next pic is a couple of buildings in the downtown area, one of my favorite things about Cheyenne is that they are trying to preserve the old buildings. They encourage businesses to remodel buildings rather than tear them down, they also prefer new buildings to reflect the older architecture.

Last pic is of the original Union Pacific Train Depot (well the second one as the first was a temporary wood structure) built between 1886-1887. In the last few years it has been restored and turned into a museum. Cheyenne was once the world headquarters for Union Pacific and the railroad basically built the town.

Hopefully you all enjoy the pics, I'm sure I will be posting a ton more once I move.

Edited for atrocious spelling.

Congrats on the job! That koi picture is excellent; I love gardens.

Thank you. :good: I love gardens too, I've been to the botanical garden all but the last trip up.
