cats and glass lids

Does anyone use glass lids on their aquariums and have issues with their cats cracking or chipping the lids from repeatedly jumping onto them?

If you use 5 or 6mm thick coverglass, it won't crack unless your cat is a really fat one. Glass doesn't normally scratch from cats jumping on it.

If the cat jumps on the tank regularly, either remove the coverglass and let the cat go for a swim, or squirt it with a water bottle/ water pistol whenever it tries to jump on the tank.

Do you know which brand is 6mm? I haven't seen anything thicker than 5mm?

I just use second hand plate glass from a glazier
