Catfish For A 180Ltr

Rather keep the tigers and have 2 Apistogramma agassizii instead of the keyholes.

ok so:
15tiger barbs
2 apistogramma agassizii
12 sterbai cories
2 starlight BN's

Hows that sound?

Looks fine although its best to have 1 male and a few females with the apisto. Something like
15 Tiger barbs
4 Apistogramma agassizii (1 male, 3 females)
15 Sterbai cories
2 Starlight BNs

ok ill do that with the apistos, but why 15 sterbai? Also do you think the apistos will be ok in 8.2 ph?

that looks like a great stocking, Tiger barbs don't get used enough IMO. :good:

I just thought there was enough room for them but its up to you. That is a bit on the high side for them really. And i think its way to high for the Starlights they wive in black water and need a ph atleast below 7.5 with around 6 being better.your PH would be good for african cichlids though but they only really work with other africans not in community set ups. It might be worth asking over in the oldworld section just to see what the options are.

Fell in love with them as soon as I saw them and just had to have them at some point.

Ok ill see what water they are in at the shop. The starlights are coming from a breeder on here, and they have been bred in ph 8 he said, and they seem to be ok.

Oh is that vicky and kev? I dont know how they have managed it ive spoke to people who can even keep them alive over 7.5 let alone breed them. Good luck with them.

Here's what I would do:

15 Tiger barbs
2 Kribensis (1 male, 1 female) (these will cope better with a high pH than the apisto)
12 Corydoras robineae (different from bog standard Sterbai corys and can cope higher temps (25C ideal temp) better than most corys but not a warmwater species like Sterbais)
2 Whiteseam Starlight BNs
1 Flying Fox
1 African Butterfly Fish

Looks good although i dont think the Butterfly fish would do to well at all with the barbs and kribs.

like the kribensis as much as the apisto.
like the sterbai more because they are a more smoother shape.
had 2 flying foxes, both died within a day just like the three RTBS's ive had.
Dont like the butter fly fish

The Barbs are too big to get eaten by the ABR. Kribs and ABR can be kept together as ABR inhabit the water surface while Kribs inhabit tank bottom. Plus all are semi-aggressive fish so they should be able to hold their own against each other

so far:
15 tiger barbs
2 kribensis or 4 apistos
15 sterbai
2 starlight BN's

I was meaning more the Tigers and Kribs nipping the Butterflys long fins.

Would like a flying fox or RTBS, but any ideas why I cant keep them alive?
