Caterpiller Like Thing

hi all new to keeping fish. i have come across a caterpiller like thing that seems to be living inside a loose plant leaf. almost as if it is using it as a shell any one have any idears on what it could be? any help would be very usefull.

Sounds like a Caddisfly larva.

If you have small fish/shrimp in there you are best getting it out.

yeah that looks like the right kind of thing. i have a very large angle fish and a few sword tails do you think that it is worth getting rid of it?

How big are the sword tails? If they are under a couple of inches they might be in danger of becoming lunch.
