Cat Missing - Keighley

That's very very odd indeed. I take it all the vets in the area, animal shelters, and police all have his details?
And no genuine phone calls? :/

Yep - he's been reported to everyone, we've flyered locally and postered all over and we've only had that one night of hoax calls - not ONE genuine call at all. :( I'm trying not to give up hope but things aren't looking promising now at all :(

The only thing we can think of is that someone's taken him in, but they'll be aware that he's missing as we've flyered every local door and there are posters up at all local shops and at the vets.

don't give up hoping Kathy, you hear all sorts of stories of cats coming back years after they ran away so you never know.

i really hope not but someone could have taken him in and be intentionally ignoring the flyers etc as they want to keep him. :-(

I think the two most likely scenarios are one I don't want to think about or that someone's keeping him. Hes very very distinctive and I think someone would've reported him by now otherwise :(

:-(

still got my fingers crossed that he comes home.

Thanks *hug*.

I've got to admit, today's been a rough day with this. Been phoning everyone round with updates and had no positive news or anything else encouraging to report.

I just find it very odd that given the amount of publicity we've given this, we've not had one positive report of him, ust a couple of hoax calls the day the posters went up (and they were checked out and were definitely hoaxes - same kids each time). I keep thinking, if someone local had him, one of the local kids would've most likely let slip by now, or the local gossip. This is a close knit area, it seems odd that noone's even seen him since a couple of days after he went missing. It's not like we've kept the search too local either.

It's so hard not knowing. I'd rather hear he's been found dead than *not know*, I realise how awful that sounds.

Grace isn't coping well either, she's absolutely lost without him.

I thought you had sightings of him at first? or did they turn out to be hoaxes?

I know exactly what you mean Kathy, it's awful feeling like your kept in limbo, at least if you get an answer one way or another you can start to deal with it and move on.

it depends though, yes if someone local who was involved in the community, had kids and everyone knew had taken him then yes you'd have probably heard by now. But even in the closest communities there's gonna be a couple of people who no one really knows who don't socialise with everyone, if they had him and kept him in the house, who'd find out?

We had one confirmed sighting the day after he went missing (we found out a bit later). I say confirmed, I'm not 100% about it to be honest.

But yes, it's possible that someone shut off from the general community has him. I just think if anyone had seen him even sat in a window, they'd have said by now, although it's not hopeless yet. This place is full of grasses.

On the plus side they can't register him at my vets without me finding out. They can't register him at the only other vets in the area without *them* knowing at least (they're not being overly helpful but I'm working on them).

Police have said they won't step in if someone has him, but they were sympathetic at least, unlike the CPL who were positively holier than thou and unhelpful.

you know although the CPL and RSPCA do some excellent work they can also be a complete PITA at times.

being a cat he'll probably come trotting in in a couple of weeks time like nothings happened at all and giving you wierd looks when your crying and making a fuss of him

I hope so Alice, but I think we've got to the stage now where we have to come to terms with the idea that that scenario is less and less likely each day.

No news to report today - not a peep out of anyone.

I know :-(

well my offer still stands if there's anything I can do, or if you just wanna cry/rant you know where i am

I've just had an email off the rescue we got Dodge from saying a found ginger cat has been reported. Very unlikely to be him as it's so far away (Gilstead in Bingley), and there's no mention of white, but for some insane reason all that sensibility has gone out of the window and I already have my hopes up.

you just never know..... got my fingers crossed

i know i should probably be telling you to not get too excited as you may be dissapointed..... but everytime I see another post on this topic I get giddy and hope your saying he's back so I can hardly talk.
