I am planning on having a planted tank, I have carbon in my external filter and a DIY yeast CO2 system, my question is if i put liquid plant food in the tank will it be removed by the carbon.

well as far as what i have read it will remove liquid based fertilizers, but not if the carbon filter is a bit old :) somebody correct me if im wrong :D hehe

Carbon will remove liquid fertlisisers and I've heard it removes other useful elements too. I would only use it now and again to remove any medications etc.

Carbon also becomes useless after a few weeks and will leech toxins back into the water if not removed/replaced. I have never used carbon in my 2 year old planted tank.
