Cant Believe It!

Im sure many of you have seen my posts on here about trying to single out a pair of severums and sex them, I decided to place a piece of slate face down in each of the Sevs areas to see if they prefered horizontal area to lay eggs. I couldnt believe it when both pairs went nuts within a minute of the extra slate being introuced. Lip locking, chasing, shivering and circling like ive never seen, just waiting for them to lay now but the reaction was incredible

I bred them way back in the 70's, & they laid there eggs on a rounded flat rock horizontally.... (If you could use that info)

They are great fish, im picking up a 2.5 footer soon for my geos and going to move my last pair into the end section to see if they will lay!

Ive put a bit of slate in each horizontally and they went nuts pics and vid to follow

2.5 footer!!.... Geeze!!!!... now I'm the one who can't believe!!??.... mine bred at about 9", & I thought they do not get bigger & that!.....

My geos are going in the 2.5 footer, they only get to about 4 inces so should be fine. My sevs are only about 6 inches but are healthy specemins and are showing all the right signs

My geos are going in the 2.5 footer, they only get to about 4 inces so should be fine. My sevs are only about 6 inches but are healthy specemins and are showing all the right signs

Slight update guys, the male sev is now diggin a pit , lets hope for lil gold babies
