Can You Really Tell The Difference? Calling All Rio Owners!

Good plan! Show her some nice fish that need the bigger tank...that may help...

im going to tell her about angle fish. she loves them ( i know deep down she wants one) birthday present me thinks ;)

and they would be ALOT happier in a 180

my advice is be straight up and honest with your mum
tell her the 180 is only 20cm difference and with getting that one you wont want to upgrade until you have your own place but if you have the 125 you are going to have to buy a larger one within a year as it wont be big enough for the fish you are wanting to buy
get her involved a bit more in the picking of 2 or 3 fish for the tank

i'm sure she'll come around get the tape measure out and let her decide where its going to go - start with the measurements for the 180

good luck - hopefully you wont come down with a bad case of MTS like i have

well i have a place. once the xmas trees gone. and i move her cabinet down which supports the rekord, i may be able to empty the cupboard items into the rio cabinet, are they very big?

i will tell the truth, and TBH i will be happy with a 125 it would just be nice to have an extra 55 litres at 20cm more

i had both set up in my room, i didnt notice tooo much difference.

the cabinets are quite nice :o

thats what i think but my mum thinks different, did you have your tanks upstairs? as im really worried that a single 180 may come throught the roof and i dont want that to happen

I'll bump this for you. I can't imagine that the weight would be a problem. It's basically 400 pounds. Maybe someone else will give an opinion...

i have a rekord 120 upstairs, and a 40L next to it so thats like the same weight. and next to that is an empty 240 so that must still way alot when its empty.

i really dont want to take risks. i dont have a clue as to what is acceptable upstair, and really it differs by house. my house is around 20-30 years old
