Apparently I paid no attention to the size of this food i purchased online, as it’s almost as big as my tank!
Can I freeze most of it while I use some so it won’t go bad?

Yes, I now do this. I purchase the larger size (which per volume is substantially less expensive thus saving dollars per can) and once I open it I put a small amount in a smaller container (save the empties) and freeze the larger. It supposedly stays fresh.

Ditto - have done so for years and especially now when I buy by the pound to save a buck or two. However, calculate the price per ounce. Some fish foods offer no price break for their larger sizes.
