I believe it has been decided that i have a gibbiceps pleco. What im wondering though is if i can put in some of the original plecos i wanted like butterfly plecos or any other smaller types? Right now my pleco is about 3-4 inches from tip to tip of tail...

IME plecos are a bit territorial to other bottom feeders (and sometimes even larger fishes)

I don't see why you couldn't mix other plecos that like similar water conditions, but you'll need a tank large enough for them to claim their patches and such.

Also keep in mind that all plecos, even the small ones, are very messy, they poo, a lot. Having a lot of them means you'll need to do a bit more maintenance.

Take a look here XM and see what you think... You should be able to set the record straight once and for all.

Take a look where?!

Edit - if you mean the ID thread a few threads below this then, yeah, it's gibbiceps.

Lol, I didn't add the link.
