I will be going away for a few days:

Leaving Thursday and coming back late Monday night.

I have 2 tetras, 2 z. danios and one cory, also a amazon sword plant.

I usually feed them every other day and plan on doing so Thursday. Must I arrange for someone to feed them on Saterday or can they be o.k. until I get back on Monday?

Also, what about the lighting? Will the amazon die if it doesn't get light for 3-4 days?

TY

Healthy adult fish can easily go for a week without eating, two weeks is usually no problem. I've had adult angels go 3 weeks without being fed, this is a commn part of conditioning hard to spawn fish for breeding.

Get a timer for the light, and you won't have to worry about the plants.

They should be fine...the longest I left mine was 4 days. If you're unsure petco has an automatic feeder thing that sits in your tank and releases food. That might be a good option.

The longest i left mine was a month. I was like 8 ( 6 years ago), adn our house was flooded due to the fact that our washer's pipe broke, and our house was being worked on for forever, and the tank was fine without water changes, light cycle's, and food. Nothing died or anything. Im sure they will be fine.

I designed one of these years ago at school... never got round to actually making it though!

i think there's was this debate on auto feeders some time back here. you might want to consider getting one of better quality reason being there are cases where either all the food gets dumped into the tank due to a low-quality feeder, or no food is released at all. its best actually to get someone to feed the fishes for you if possible
