Can I Use Cycled Media In Uncycled Tank?

Basically at me mums nursery theyve gone out and bought a fish tank with 3 goldfish and no filter. so ive bought them a filter but rather than cycling and not being there to do it properly could i just use one of my sponges from my fluval in their tank?

Ive cycled my tank thoroughly and im getting good results so will this work?

yes, that's a good way of instantly cycling the tank. just make sure that there is a bioload in the tank when you add the filter media, or the bacteria will start to die off.

They're goldfish of course they'll be bioload haha i cleaned it out yesterday so should be ok.
