Can I Keep These Fish In The Same Tank....... ?

Hi all fist timer to the site but been keeping fish for a while now

My question is can i keep swordtails with any off the following ....

Angles
(Redtail) tin foil barbs
Ruby shark
Gourami's

ive just been given a few swordtails and there all ok on there own in my other tank but was wondering if there be ok to mix with my other tanks fish

tin foil barbs i would give a miss
as they grow up to twelve inches
as for the other they sound fine
what size tank have you got

first off, we need to know how large your tank is and if it has been fully cycled....

next -

angels would be a no, they are a cichlid and by nature will grow very large, territorial, and aggressive. their name comes from beauty, not temperament!

the barbs would also be a miss in most cases....they are notorious for nipping.

any species of shark is a no....they all get large and need a massive tank to thrive. they become quite territorial as they mature.

gouramis - - depends on the species and again, the size tank.... you may have more lucky with pearl and opaline gouramis

Hi.

I agree with the others,

Angel fish are ideal kept to species only as they can and will eat smaller fish. They are also very territorial.
Tinfoil barbs will be less nippy if kept in a large shoal of atleast 6 but the can get to 14", the minimum tank size they can possibly go in is around 60 Gallons.
Ruby sharks can get to 6" and need atleast a 30 Gallon tank. they are extremely territorial and can die from stress.
Gouramis should be fine depending what species you have, but saying that they are sometime territorial aswell.

Basically, the mix you have is not ideal. Id go for a peaceful community tank depending on you tank size.

hi all sorry never got email so say i had msg's posted

the barbs ect are all in one tank 225 lt tank 3 barbs 4 angles 6 ish gouramis (all diffint) loach's pelco clown loach ruby shark the sword tails are all in a 3x2 foot tank i think its about 80-100 lt

Now i know i should not have half off the fish in the 4 foot tank all togther but they all get on ok angles are 6" plus barbs 10" and others are all 4" plus in size they all get along fine

Been setup now for about 1yr was planted but the gouramis and barbs keep eating what i put in there theres rocks and bog wood and hiding holes along with free swin in the middle off tank thought i'd ask if the swords can join them but i guest they cant ... ??

I would rehome the barbs,they get huge..i had three full grown in my five by two by two foot tand and it was way to small for them, i had to give them away free,you may be lucky to sell them
