Can I Keep Jewels With Yellow Labs?

I'm setting up a 4ft tank for cichlids and my L001 plec.I have 3 young jewels all siblings but the eldest who has turned red is twice the size of the smallest which is still grey and gets bullied.Someone nearby has offered me some yellow lab fry as he is trying to rehome a batch of them. They are currently about 1 inch long - my largest jewel is 2 inches. Can labs be kept with jewels? Water pH etc is not an issue as both species are currently living in the same tap water sincethey are only a few miles away.

well from my experience no
my jewel tore my lab to shreds
but who knows, that could of been just mine
