cant really go off colors, cuz im sure there are so many variations of platys and mollys, you really need to verify the other differences.

'Blue' in almost any animal (not neon blue) is somewhere along the lines, a Dilute Black.

So if you get a 'poor quality' black molly and keep breeding the lighter ones...you end up with a blue kind of colour or tbh with mollies its more just grey....
