Can anyone identify these?

Hi, We've recently had about 5 or 6 snails appear in the tank. Some are tiny.

They don't look like the apple snails we keep. Any ideas what they are or where they might have come from?

Looks like a bladder snail to me. If it is they usually hitchhike on plants, hardscape, substrate, etc. If it is a bladder snail go light on feeding as they can breed out of control. I started with 5-10 in my fry tank probably on 70-100+ now.

looks like you may be right. We spotted one a few weeks ago then it disappeared. Looks like it arrived around the same time as a live plant...

Then today we spotted him again. As I was looking, I suddenly realised there were about 5 or 6 of them.

I had the exact same problem. I ordered a live plant off a website I had never used as it was cheaper and had no problems for a week or two. Then 3-4 snails popped up, and after the first ones were spotted it got to about 10-15 in the following weeks. I believe some people squish them in the tank for the fish to eat. I don't do that as I use them to help clean the aquarium and occasionally manually remove some when I see the population going out of control.

I would get an assassin snail or two.

Better still, buy a pea puffer and feed them to it , that’s what I do as my pea puffer won’t accept anything from.
