Can A Refillable Reg Be Adapted For Disposable Bottles/cans?

There are no re-fillable options locally unless I pay big money for an even bigger cylinder (£100 rental £30 fill- Air Products) so It would be good if there was an adaptor so I could mess about with disposables to try and find out what's broken, before I complain.
