Cabbage White Journal

We had several in a critter keeper and released them when they emerged. Got butterfly on hand pictures, but managed to miss them emerging every time  I was gutted! Will have to try again next year

So here's the pictures I did manage to get of the butterflies we hatched:

Was trying here to get a picture of one of the cocoons before hatching and then during hatching, but again, I managed to miss it emerging - so gutted!

Apologies for the quality of the last ones - the camera was NOT happy about the idea of taking a picture through plastic, or inside a tiny plastic box LOL

You should get some for your little one next year, even if its just a couple of plants in a pot. We grew ours from seed in a butter container on the windowsill, then planted them out at about 5 inch tall, and you can see above how big they got! Great opportunity for kids to learn about life cycles and food chains etc, plus you get pretty flowers and butterflies at the end of it, and what little girl doesn't love that?! :D

We always have nasturtiums. In fact some are still in full flower in the garden. Very nice flowers. They taste nice too.
