I was just wondering if I could buy the eggs and hatch them in a container, and not a filtered tank... What would I need apart from salt and the eggs and obviously water?

Well that's kind of obvious.. -_- but I would want to have them continuously breeding so I can feed them to my fish.

Powdered milk feeds them? How many hatch at once?

Breeding your own brineshrimp in any numbers to feed juvinile and adult fish is a difficult task that will require a filtered tank. Hatching the brineshrimp is very easy and the newly hatch larvea make great food for fry but it takes several weeks to grow the shrimp to a size suitable for larger fish, it is a easier and cheaper option to use frozen foods.

Ok then, another question... How about ghost shrimp?
