Well, a thunderstorm rolled throught on Thursday and I came home to find my Jack Dempseys spawning again. Wish me luck this time. I hope for a bunch of survivors!!

Day 1

I didn't take any pictures of day 2 or three. I wanted them to have privacy to tend to their spawn.

Day 4: Getting Ready to hatch.

I gave up counting at 350, and guessed

Yeah me and Tolak did that on the first spawn. He counted about 1/4 of them and was at over 100. So he guessed over 400 lol HUGE first spawn

I am super excited. I cannot wait to see these little guys free swim, assuming mom lets them. I am really hoping that their parenting skills have improved since last time

I am learning really quick that these two are the typical married couple. She has gone through all the trouble of laying the eggs and watching over them and all she was is a little compassion and some of the housework to be done. I don't know what spat I walked into this morning. Maybe he didn't do the dishes. But Diane lip locked him, punched him in the head and sent him to the corner. But he doesn't hold a grudge. He's back by her side now, helping her watch the babies.

THe pit of babies. I can't get a good video of them but they are really active and some keep jumping out of the pit.

And mommy hasnt left the pit. She watches them babies very carefully.

That would be awesome!!! I honestly cannot wait to see them all swimming with mommy! She is being so attentive right now. Evn guarding babies from daddy lol
