Paid $20 for a barely used Fluval 204, has everything but the media in the baskets. I pulled up the owner's manual online, but it suggests things like carbon and ammonia lock for the media baskets!

On one side are the sponges that the previous owner thankfully left behind, but the baskets on the other side are empty. I have ceramic noodles from a HOB filter that I plan to use, but what about the other baskets, and in what order?

Well, I was impressed by the amount of sponge acting as a sort of pre-filter, then there's room for 3 baskets of other media. I have ceramic media and I just ordered bio-balls and pond filter media (which I use in another filter) so maybe that will go in the top.

Will this be enough filter for my 29g? My Eheim ECCO 2234 is NOT enough filter for my 20g. Very disappointing.
