How often do Blue acaras spawn? or how often does the female lay eggs?

My pair spawned one month ago, but the father ate the fry three days after they became free swimming. Almost immediately the parents began courting again. For the last 3 weeks they both have been shaking, flicking/rubbing and following each other all over the tank. The male at times will shake like crazy in front of the female and pick at the flat rock they used last time. They also shake while trying to rip out the fake plants. lol. I'm wondering how often do they spawn.

Thanks

Yeah around every 2 weeks unless they have fry to watch. But once you tank the fry out they start flirting in a few days.

They love to have babies. My female got over protective and would fight the male as soon as the fry were free swimming. Crazy fish. My female was kind of mean so I had to seperate them.

I hope yours like eachother more then mine did.

My male also got real aggressive with the female once the fry went free swimming, then he ate them. Since then he has been extremely friendly with her, as expected

Something must also be holding them back as its been 3 weeks since he ate them??

They both have to be in the mood. You say he is being nice to her again right? Are they flirty? The male shows off a d nips at plants, they follow eachothher around. If they are then they will spawn anyday. They just need to agree on a rock.

lol. Can't be to hard to agree on a rock...They only have one flat rock to choose from. lol I wonder if I should toss two more flat rocks in?? is it that important to them\ are they that picky?

Thanks for the advice!!

My female was kind of picky the male would clean off on and my female would pick another. I have LOTs of rocks in my tank and almost every time they pick a different one. I would put more in for sure It would not hurt.

are they fighting? Mine go ALL OUT lip locking and fighting like crazy right before they spawn but then again mine are crazy. I should video them. I reunited my pair and they are courting again. one moment they are showing off to each other and being cute the next they are lip locked and going at it.

Um, mine only fought when their fry had become free swimming. The male kept the female away for 2 days till he ate the fry. Since then (almost 4 weeks now) they have been extremely peaceful with each other, only once did I see them lip lock after shaking and rubbing up against each other. They spend most of their day following each other, shaking, pulling on the fake plants and then some more shaking.

I do think the female has a problem with the rock. He cleans the one flat rock and she ignores him when he does. (swims away)

Yeah put another rock or 2 in for sure it could help then do a large water change that works most of the time.
