Where did you find the nests?

It's nice to see bird nests and their chicks.

In my experience,

Hummingbirds nest in branches, I had one nest 2.5 feet off the ground! I also had one that nested 10 feet off the ground. Most of the time they are around 6-8 feet off the ground on small branches farther away from large branches.

I have a Mourning Dove who nests continuously on my patio probably 12 feet above the ground. One time a red tailed halk tried to get it, but it flew into our house!

House sparrows enjoy very bushy shrubs, higher up. Or they will nest in roof tiles.

House Finches nest higher up in trees

Vireos nest lower to the ground in large shrubs.

Hawks nest in Palm Trees and tall power lines if available

Owls nest in left over hawk nests high off the ground, most of the time in eucalyptus trees.

LeContes Thrashers nest in Smoke Trees.

May be a little too much for what you asked…
