Big Tank In Flat?

I'm hoping to get a new tank and was wondering if my floor could take the weight.

The tank is 48l x 20w x 26h.

Probably be in a first floor flat by the time it was set up, I'm in a second floor flat at the moment. There is a basement below the first floor flat.

hey!
i live in the 1st floor flat! i was worried as well, so just to be ot the safe side i put mine (48"x16"x18" and 48"x15"x15")very clse to the wall - they still there! :shout:

i'd like to imagine flats will be a bit more solid then a normal upstairs of a house, in a normal house as long as theyre on the beams they should be fine , although i must admit i don't think i;ll ever have the guts to try it .

Find out which direction the floor joists go, then put the tank ACROSS them, not along the same lines as they go. Make sure the stand either has a solid base, or if it has legs, then put a piece of strong solid board underneath the stand to balance out the weight. You can always decorate/paint the board to suit the room.

48litres is nothing, it should hold with no problem what so ever, honestly 1 person and a bathfull of water is way more than that and that holds fine upstairs.

i have a 54 litre upstairs and want to update to a 125

edit: oh 48l as in length, silly me, sorry, if i were you i wouldnt put a tank of that size upstairs, like others have said put it across two or more joists,

i have a juwel rio 400 in my bedroom with rocks and a tons of sand. and it takes the weight.

When it's all said & done you are ballpark about half a ton of weight in a structure where you have no idea as to the design & build of the floor. That is the first thing you have to find out.
