ive bought some aquarium sand and put it in the tank, it made the water brown, I began to worry, and put the sand in the bucket and washed it like 40 times, literraly! Plz help me im desperate

Put the sand back in and do a couple of water changes...have the filter running and rinse it out a couple of times using tank water.

What size tank is it and what sort of sand did you use?

IT DIDNT WORK!! =( someone plz help, shold i return the sand for gravel

My sand took several hours before the the water cleared.

If you really want sand, and are not bothered if it's nutritious for plants or not,buy a big bag of playsand from Argos.Costs about £2,washes quickly and doesn't discolour the water.

This is what I did.

Just make sure you WASH IT LOADS AND LOADS!!

Not sure what could have gone wrong with your sand though, so long as you have washed it, then the water shouldn't have dis-coloured - really odd.

does that mean you can't have plants with Argos Play sand?

Yes,you can,my sand tank is fairly heavily planted.
Sorry, what I mean is,you ca use root tabs and liquid ferts.
