Jackson had a hole in his tail fin that has turned grey and got bigger and more horizontal oval shape...is this finrot?
I understand i can use metafix but in very small diluted doses....
Do i treat the whole tank...or should i seperate him???
and i have a carbon pad in my Fluval U2...shall i take it out? I've heard after a while they are useless anyway...its been in there since end of August...

please reply i need to help Jackson x

You should take him out and treat him by himself. I would rather use bettafix because meta fix sem a but too strong.

I believe it became fin rot when the hole was tore.

I've had fish arrive via post with small holes in their tail fins. It's never come to anything though so I've never worried about it. The holes didn't get bigger or develop into rot at all. I'm sorry that Jackson doesn't seem so good. If I have finrot within my tank I use MYXAZIN and most people I know use the same. It's a five day course and then water change. Sometimes you may need to do a second course.

I hope that Jackson is better soon :)

I would certainly remove him to treat him as you have corys in the tank.
I use aquarium salt for fin rot, if its looking bad then as fuzzynicki said, use myxazin. :good:

it seems to have healed up..so maybe the grey colour was the tail healing....
I also posted a thread on where to get bettafix? as i can only find it based in the US..Where in the UK can you get it? and can u get this myxazin in the uk?
