Betta Imbellis.vs.Betta Siamonrietalis

I'm getting a few wild caught " Imbellis ". But after doing some researchs, I found out that the previously labeled Imbellis caught in that area were actually Siamorietall. Is there any easy way to distinguish them apart ? I looked online but found nothing.

IMO I feel like the female would be easier to distinguish. Are you getting any? Super cool fish you're getting btw.

The colors of Betta siamorientalis is often dark compared to B. imbellis, which are more vibrant.

Absolutely yes. They are so cool, and they are pretty rare in my area.
But I won't crossbreed with other strains. I prefer keeping them wild.

I was going to say, if you are dealing with wild caught fish, try to buy 10-20 of them so you have multiple pairs and can mix the bloodlines up when breeding. This gives you better offspring and more genetic variation in the fish you have, so you can keep breeding them for longer.

The Imbellis has arrived! Currently no pic because they are kinda shy and keep hiding. I'll try my luck at night to see if they are more active.

I swear they are really smart, whenever I try to take pictures of them they'll hide, but when I'm not they'll come out
