I brought my new betta yesturday, and he was great in the LFS and my tank... But today he seems to be sad. All he does he stay still at the top of the tank. Yesturday he greeted me everytime I came to front of tank, but today he doesnt. He wont feed today even though he eat 2 flakes yesturday and still looks at me if he wanted more... Is this normal. Because Im starting to worrie.

he's probably just getting used to things. many times when you get a new betta they will "sulk" for a time. give him a few days. if he's eating and looking overall healthy i wouldnt worry. and DONT give in to their cuteness and begging and feed them more than you should. that can cause problems too. ive seen his pics and he's a handsome chap!
just be on the lookout for obvious signs of illness. my bets are he's just settling in and will be a happy chap in no time!
cheers

I agree with above.
Bettas are known for sulking when they get put in a new tank.
Or even when they have a rescape.
Just keep a close eye on him and if you have any more worries just post them.
:)

Okay thank you for help. Didnt know bettas sulk, thats something new on me lol.

Surprised it ate at all when you first put it in. Took mine about 5 days before he decided he was hungry.

He didnt looks like he was really feed at shop so gave him a chance... and he eat like no tomorrow. (Dont worrie didnt over feed him)

How long will he sulk for ?

It depends on his personality really anything from a day to a few weeks! He'l come round though, blood worms or peas are a good help hehe ;)

Im next round of a Tuesday so when I pop round then to see him I will feed him a pea

I will find out tomorrow. But he does seem to cheering up a little :)

Though it annoys me because he seems to like my boyfriend more then me at the moment lol

they sulk as if overwhelmed by new surroundings. dont move from one spot much or dont eat for a week or so...they will eventually explore and swim around (even if they go right back to one spot)...its good that he's eating...do you have some plants for him? real or silk? they like to rest on plants...a LOT! some folks worry that their betta is sick casue they rest a lot...but if they swim around. explore(or just a quick "check" of their tank) and go back to rest in the same spot...that's normal...some are more active than others...but if eating and generally looking healthy, NO need to worry!!!
cheers!

He has alot of real plants to rest on or a little boat he could rest/hind on so thats not a problem. He seems to be getting more active each day, thanks for the help :)
