Betta Has Paled Up

One of my male bettas (the one in my avatar) has gone from a darker red to paling up. Now that he's pale, he has vertical stripes showing (these are not the ones that show stress, is that right?)

What should I be doing for him to help him out? He's fed betta bites 1 pelet 2X per day, a pea on Sundays, and a few blood worms after every water change.
