Betta Fish Compatibility

+ 1 for adding suitable sized tanks for keeping a min number of schooling/ shoaling fish with a betta. Most shrimp adult shrimp are safe with a betta but the betta will often eat any shrimplets they can track down. Also black neon tetras are ok with bettas...well there's never been any agro between my 10 and the female betta that's in their 4ft tank. There is also some Pakastani loaches (Yo-Yo loaches) in the tank and they aren't being a bother to anyone but the snails.
what would you think that the minimum tank size, and minimum group number would be to house these fish with a betta?

Thank you for answering those questions FishyFriend. Those were just some things I had heard. I personally have never kept neons or danios with a betta. I only know about harlequins and cories, having kept both with bettas :)

your welcome. and TBH i have only ever kept bettas with danios, endlers, guppies, Pygmy cories, and danios. all of the other fish that i had listed on there were from extensive research :good:
EDT; and do you think that i should add shrimp to that list?

I've heard that putting bettas in a tank that is too big with too many other fish can be detrimental to them because they have trouble establishing their territory. So my advice to anyone making a community tank is not to get too excited :)

PIN IT! PIN IT! PIN IT! :D

Also I thought danios were nippy aswell?

I got to refer someone to this thread yesterday that was asking about compatability. It was a new member and they said they found the info here very useful. PIN THIS
