What would be the best filter for a 10 gallon. I'm going to get a divider so I can have two in the tank. I know the filter I have for the tank is way to strong and my plans were to buy a new filter for the 10 gallon anyway.

I use a sponge filter for my bettas its pretty good at making minimal current.

Sponge is always recommended for bettas, or spraybar. Whchever you like

Sponge filters are great for bettas, but hang in the back filters with an adjustable current can have the input on one side and the outflow on the other. This helps to maintain proper filtartion on both sides. Or, you could hook up two sponge filters; one on each side of the divider.

A sponge filter works with an airpump.  You attach the two together with air line hose.  The air pumps up the filter which pulls in water through the sponge(s) and then up out of the filter which aireates the water.  They create a softer flow than most other filters which is why they are recommended for bettas.
