BEFORE...

Photo0190.jpg

I basically threw all the plants in without any thought and left them to get on with it, also you can see the nasty leopard skin scarf / background

AFTER...

Photo0194.jpg

Still a bit cloudy after uprooting everything (At one point I thought "is this a good idea!?") I think it'll improve once the Sag has filled out at the back.. I'm yet to make a java moss matt for the front also. erm.. yeh. I've a few rocks and twigs but not sure if they'll be overkill..

thanks for any input :)

your plants look like they are doing well certainly better than mine

I actually like the first pic more as the over grown look is more my thing. It looks better with a background aswell than without although leopard print not really my thing. but looks better with keopard print than with nothing in my opinion. When your new scape grows out though I;m sure it will look far more impressive than the first :good:

Simon :good:

Im so jealous of all these people who can keep vallis alive :)

Like simon said i prefer the first pic but when everything grows some more it should look much better and your vallis will act as your backround

looks loads better, although i thought the background was very 'mighty boosh'/'Russel Brand'. But seriously, it does looks a lot better. :good:

thanks guys! looking at it the before did look pretty good :\ i think i should have just bought more plants! instead of tryin to space them out. the boosh scarf had to go  will get somethin plain and dark..

Second pic looks better to me with the vallis spread out. Should propagate more this way too.

Black background would improve it further in my opinion.

thanks we shall see! i jst hope my crypts dont all melt after being moved around :\

ill try that coldcazzie, thanks! ill upload another pic with it on later...

The 'after' aquarium looks really nice and more organised than the 'before' aquarium. Well done! :D

I prefer the look of the first photo, only because of the nice thick "bush" effect of the Vallis (or whatever tall plant that is) towards the back of the tank, allowing your fish to hide if they so wish. However, given some time for growth, the new layout of the Vallis could look great.

yeh i love that look too... and recently my corys have been laying their eggs on the glass behind all that! however, I want that thick lush leafage all along the back of the tank so now I've had a rescape I'm looking forward to the Sagittaria Subulata filling out a lot more, and around the sides too. It's always a waiting game when scaping planted tanks and I'm sooooo impatient! :sly:

I prefer the first scape. I like the bundled up, 'island' look. Its got more depth :good:

have added the binliner background (thank you coldcazzie!)

Photo0197.jpg

that is the easiest (and quite effective) background in exsistence! The bin liner sticks to the glass itself with static / magic! woohoo :good:

I take back what i said about about prefering the first pic. All it needed was a black backround. And my god im still jealous of all yous val keeper alivers lol
