Thanks Sam (and for the kind offer) :D I'm not sure at the very moment. I definitely want Red Long Noses as well as Crystal Shrimp - but they both cost a pretty penny (or many  ), so I'd certainly love to know what they get in if I haven't made up my mind yet which to go for by then.

Haha I know the feeling! I only went into the shop for a look round, should have guessed that was a mistake! Ill send you a PM once I know what they've got in and costs etc. Then you can decide :) at least we ough to be able to avoid postage costs.

Sam

Oh ok, will do, cheers for the advice, would never have thought of that!

have you noticed any hikari flakes/pellets while you were there?
it's advertised on their website...
thanks!

TBH not sure mate, but they have pretty much everything you could ever need, and I mean everything! Is a huge shop, packed to the rafters! I have got algae waffers from them before, not sure if thats what you mean. If it is I have a half bag that I dont need anymore if you're interested?

If its on their website then 95% chance its in the shop, they keep it up-to-date Where you based then?

i am in swindon.
i want some micro-pellets for my mollies and platies.
thanks for the wafers but i tried the tetra ones and they just stay stable on the water for days, i have to pick them up to clear the tank floor.
:thanks:

Oh right yeh I know the ones you mean, got some myself actually. They had some last time I got a packet, but that was a few months back, but as I said they tend to have most things in stock.

thanks.
i'll have a check one weekend.
:good:

i spent £50 on the lump in my (now sold) cube. should have seen the misses face when i told her it cost me £25. we'll keep that one quiet or i'll be dead.

HEHE !!! my tank has cost me £75 so far

.............it has cost that for the lighting alone !!!

Nice wood mate! Where is it going...the nano lol

Chris

Looks nice, how big is it exactly? Hard to tell from the photos without any representation of scale...

I know why you liked that wood...it looked like a crouching bat on the second photo!
Seriously though, it's got great, great potential!

yeh I guess it does! :p

Its 22" long by 12" high, so quite bit, it'll certainly be a feature in the tank which is only 30" in itself!

Thats a nice piece of Mopani! Should look great planted up! :)

Nice find, what is it with women? My Mrs had a hummer bypass when she found these pieces floating in the bath (wouldn't fit in anything else, that's a 4 ft tank) and threw a hissy fit when she found the invoice :D

Yeh I know what you mean but then again there are some nice women on here (Fish killer, bloo, lljdma06, Squirrelbuddies (;), Jen) to name but five) :) and they understand the NEED for nice pieces of bogwood no matter what the cost! My sister (we share a house) acually said it would look good in the big tank, as least its some sort of interest!

Your wood looks pretty darn cool too, I love the narled and colourful bits. In many ways the wood can make or break a tank.

Nice score, Sam! It truly is exciting to find the "right" piece of wood. As someone else mentioned I'll take the whole pile out and display it on the floor.

And yes, there are some nice females here! Hopefully, I qualify as one of them?! :p :D

Indeed you do, see edit ;)

EDIT - nice congo tetra on your profile BTW I do like the colours of that fish but Ive heard it gets quite big and can be agressive?

hee-hee! thanks!!

The congos are indeed a beautiful fish. I have 5 males and 3 females. The males are approximately 4 inches (10cm?). They are very peaceful and are afraid of most everything. The only aggressive thing about them is how they feed. They splash a lot at the surface and I usually end up with a bit of water on my upper body!

Now that is a great piece of wood! I don't know what rock I was under today to have missed this thread? Sorry for the late posting. So much potential. This for a new tank?

Oh, thanks for the complement. Are there really only four of us? No, you forgot Jen! She has the large 90g. Yes, I will pay loads for a good piece of mopani.

I think it'll be time for you to start another journal soon, Sam.

There are probably loads of women on here, you gals are just the ones I know the most :)

The woods kinda for a new tank, Im going to redo my main 20g tank in the type of an easy planted 'Jimboo style' tank so it probably wont be EI, just lots of anubais all over the new wood! But is a way off yet, need to save the money to replace the tank when I strip it down (and get laterite and a pressureied CO2 sytstem, as I really am that lazy!), as its getting rather taty and I dont trust it very much! But I will def be sure to start another journal when I do ;)
