Oh my god I just got home to find my female in the corner of the tank guarding loads of fry!!

She is a really good parent every time a fry ventures away from her she quickly gobbles it swims back and spits it out with the rest - it's quite funny!

The male is staying in close by too!

Keep an eye on the male as the female will sometimes end up bullying him to protect the fry. I made the mistake of leaving my male in the tank, it was 3ft so thought they'd be ok but she constantly chased him. Woke up the next morning to find him dead and I asume she had caused it. My mistake as I thought she'd settle down, even though I'd read that this could happen. Felt awful because I could've prevented it.
The next time I bred them, I removed the male and left her to it.

Thanks Stang they seem to be ok, she is aggressive to all other fish!

I have witnessed him picking up some of the fry and moving them to random places very strange!
