Goldfish are massive waste producers and you need 20 gallons for the first fish alone then 10 gallons for every other goldfish added.
Excellent filter two times more then the tank to keep up with the waste.

hi there went to maidenhead aquatics and got the treatment reccomended by a guy down there. Have followed it as instructed no signs yet lets keep our fingers crossed

Are you realising that all those fish in one tank is too many, thats the source of a part of the problem. You need to look a:

A) extra filters
B) rehoming the Goldfish or the tropicals and keep one or the other...
C) buy a new tank of about 20-30gall just for the Goldfish and leave the tropicals where they are (being aware that if its a common Plec you have that tank is too small for him alone let alone the rest of the Tropical fish)
