Bamboo Cane Question

I was wondering would bamboo cane from say B&Q be suitable for a aquarium or would it have been treated with bad things? or is there anything you could do to it to make it suitable? thanks.

Bamboo it's self is ok for an aquarium as I have seen many decorations with bamboo in them. Whether or not a piece of bamboo from B & Q would have been treated with anything one would have to ask why would they?

If concerned then I would suggest just pouring boiling water over it or maybe 25% bleach in water (thin bleach only)
