Ok.
Myabe you shouldn't be keeping pets then if you can't afford to treat them when ill. It classed as animal cruelty when I pet is not treated when needed.
If the fish was already ill at the lfs they shouldn't be selling sick fish.
Maybe ask the lfs to pay for the med as there responsible.
Ok well i persuaded my dad to get it as i found it somewhere for £3 cheaper and i guess i've already had problems with these internal parasites as it looks like my platy and possibly my gourami have it two...
along with the illness...you need to address the fact that your tank is seriously overstocked! - - bala sharks grow extremely large, and being a very active species they need atleast a 100 gallon tank - plus they are very territorial so as they grow and start to stake out territories, one shark is going to end up killing the other sharks.
I hope you bala lives...and if he does you should think about rehoming him and one of the other sharks at least, preferrably all three. long term, not even one bala shark will be able to live a healthy and happy life in your size tank ....and definitely not three
it will be harder to rehome them when they are larger (assuming that one doesnt kill the other two first) and most fish stores will not take in adult ones due to the fact that they need so much space and are hostile.
its not so much about not getting any more - you still need to address the fact that no bala shark should be in your tank - it is completely the wrong environment for it - constant stress will not help your fish get better!
I disagree, your showing a total lack of any kind of feeling or responsibility towards your fish. You dont buy fish that are not going to live in your tank for live, your just going to stunt them. Plecs and balas are 2 of the most common fish you will find it hard to rehome them most fish shops are inundated with them.
Additionally on your part I do not understand why you felt the need to buy 2 common plecs and bala sharks when there are so many close alternatives to them, why not swap them out now before you do too much lasting damage to your fish and replace the common plecs with bristlesnoses or small L number plecs like chocolate zebra plecs and replace your balas with dension barbs which grow to have the size and would be reasonably okay in your tank.
Additionally why do you have so few schooling fish in their species? 3 Zebra Danio, 3 Neon Tetras, 2 Bronze Cories, 2 Peppered?... they need to be in 6s of each
Though to be fair you would be best off reconsidering the stock of your tank because of the above issues otherwise I fear you are going to keep running into diseases in your tank. I appreciate your young but keeping fish can be so easy, you just need to understand the limits of your tank, we all have them. We all see fish that we want but realistically are not going to work in our tanks but 90% of the time there are alternatives to big fish with smaller fish, like clown loaches get to 12 inches but zebra and chain loaches get to 2-3 inches see what I mean? Its just a case of learning a few basic fish..... you dont even have to learn them Ill happily list of fish that will do well in oyur tank and you just google them and buy them
Well firstly i cant up the numbers of shoals as you guys would have another go at me for extremely over stocking. i got the plecos as one of my first fish and they are absolutely fine, actually one of the fish i've never had problems with and the balas will be taken back soon!! god i mean i see you care but no need to call me heartless.
