We get abit sensitive on here sometimes. We don't really mean to upset you.
So don't take it to heart.
But please rehome the bala sharks.
Research the fish before you buy.
Good Luck.
you should choose a few of your shoaling species to keep, get rid of the other ones, and up the shoals you are keeping
its good that you are taking back the balas while they are small and still have a chance of being sold into a proper tank
the common pleco - I might have missed it being posted earlier, but how large has it grown so far? they become enormous! they are also MASSIVE waste producers and will put an incredible strain on your filter - unless your tank is severely over ridden with algae, that large of an algae eater belongs in a tank at least twice the size of yours - you could easily get by with a bristle nose, bull dog, or other smaller pleco - I have one bristlenose in my 35 gallon and he keeps it sparkling - with the supplemental feeding of algae wafers, cucumbers, and zucchini
you just admitted to stunting your fish's growth - do u know what stunted means?? it means that the organs KEEP growing to the size they should be in a full grown healthy body - they get crammed in against the spine and lose productivity - meaning your fish dies of organ failure
yes yes but today i've taken back the sharks and the 2 plecos. I took back the bronze and peppered corys and got 4 more albino ones. I also took back the zebra danios and got 3 more neon tetras.
one would probably be fine - one keeps my 45 gallon sparkling - there isn't and should never be enough algae in a 45 to sustain two bn's - - but one, with supplements of cucumber and algae wafers would be quite happy in your tank - just don't forget - they REQUIRE driftwood - of all things, this is an absolute essential for their health and well being!
ok well good luck! - - do you have a separate tank for them to breed in? so when their fry are out of the egg stage and in the free swimming stage you have somewhere for them to be - the angels will eat any fry you have in that tank
thats not large enough for bristlenose to breed in - they breed, lay eggs in a little cave, guard the eggs til the eggs hatch, then once the fry become freeswimming they guide them around for a couple weeks - to breed them you would need a spare 20 gallon long that you can then section off for the fry to grow out in
