Background Pastic Plants

Someone on here posted a pic of their tank with a great background plastic plant whose leaves resembled urmmmmm a certain popular herb

I have been looking for the post so I can ask where the poster got the plant it looks ideal for my tank and would fill a big gap in the back.....anyone got any ideas

Yeh it's usually used for reptiles. I have a load of it in with my Leopard Gecko. Think it's artificial hemp plant, but the male strain so no buds or flowers on it.

Are plants for reptile setups ok to use in an aquarium?

Maybe they won't look "natural" but cover and nooks and crannies for my fish plus a tank that looks bright clean and leafy is what I am after.

I think most of them are none toxic and should be fine, but I'd check each brand to see what they're made up of. They come in a packet most the time so shouldn't be hard.

Yeah because of the sucker pads it makes them really good to hide and fill certain spots how you want them. I've got a hexagon shaped tank and because it's fairly tall I've been considering something similar for a back drop on the glass. Having a crack at some live plants first tho.

Just seen in the classified section this guy selling some fry. The second of his tanks he shows contains the hemp (cannabis) leaf artificial plants. I find the reptile plants don't have a glazing shimmer to them like underwater designed plants, this is why I've tended to stay away from them.

When I get them they will be to fill in the large blank space in the middle back of the tank just behind the air stone. I didn't realise they come with suckers I was trying to figure out how I was going to attach them to the glass

I had never noticed that before! i'm shocked! I thought they just looked pretty!

had this tank complete with the fake plants running for a couple of years now, with no problems to the fish, so i would def say they are safe,
although they do look alot nicer when new, and do start to look tatty over time,,
took this picture the other day, and as you can see the plants don't look as fresh, although this picture was from my phone

Yes InsaneHOH I am saying your fish tank has a slight cannabis farm look to it, especially with your abandoned beetle car sunken at the bottom, you got a whole 60's fish groove going there ...but I like it!

Well I bought some, two large ones to be precise and I think they look great! They fill up and big gap and give plenty of hiding places. The zebras are already getting behind them at one end of the tank and bursting through the leaves further along.
