:p Mr. Avery has never flared, you show him a mirror and he hides in a corner  Two days ago I gave him a new neighbor, a big VT named Isaiah, who went straight to flaring :flex: and of course Avery hid in a hole in his gravel

I was starting to wonder if I should put him back on girly row where everyone is happy, but this morning I saw a new revelation :D

I was doing my morning rounds and I saw Isaiah flare up, but it didn't seem aggressive if that makes any sense -_- Avery swam up slowly and poofed out his little gills :-( :flex: Isaiah got so excited he was doing the betta dance like he hadn't been fed in weeks

Yes, I am sleep deprived and I probably spend too much time in my fishroom, but I swear, Isaiah taught Avery how to be a man and like a true mentor was so proud of him when he succeeded :flex:

That is very cool.

Wish my Kao would do that. I've tried putting every other male I have in his view and he just refuses to flare, no matter how aggressive the other fish responds (and I have some that are super aggressive..mouth biting and butting the sides of the tanks and everything). lol He'll arch his back and rithe back and forth..but never shows a hint of gill action.

How long did you leave them side by side where they could view each other?

Maybe if you explain how you did it I can get Kao to do it too lol. I want to see his pretty fins all spread out lol I know he has them in there somewhere  .

Haha...that's pretty cool...cute that the VT was so proud as well.

can i borrow isaiah?? i have a little veil i can't get to flare for the world!!! also have a plakat who could use some encouragement
