Authentic Betta Bowl

its not trolling if hes using his own ID, calm down and dont get so het up for goodness sake. Its not even that dirty, only around the back where the mud from the rain water has settled.

I think everyone should just take a moment to calm down. Those who don't know Cracker Betta don't know if he's a good betta keeper or not You all would react with worry or aggression over bettas being kept in a toilet, clean or not.
Let's all take a moment to look at it from the other point of view and relax a little..
CrackerBettas has assures us that his bettas are healthy and clean, so we all should take a chill pill and let this thread lie..

Posting things just with the hope of making people mad is trolling. Whether with your real name or fake. I don't need to calm down, I'm calm; but thanks.

Anyway, I apologized and Dibari is right (as usual) lol

It is beyond obvious that anyone new on here (SoCalMom, including you) SHOULD question someone putting bettas in a toilet bowl! The only reason we aren't freaking out about it is because we know who he is and how well he takes care of his bettas! If I were new to a forum and I saw someone putting something up like that I would say something like she did, it's NORMAL to question things like that..and I think we can admit we would all (and SHOULD all) judge the situation.

As stated before, Cracker VERY cool!

I was bragging about you to my husband a minute ago and considering he doesn't love bettas like I do, he was totally impressed! :good:

I agree. :) Just because someone's popular, we shouldn't turn a blind eye to any 'bad practices' that we perceive. We jumped on betta girl201 for having 1/4 gallon bowls, and we jumped on you for having bettas in a toilet. Social status on a message board should matter little when it comes to good fish keeping. Since you've assured us your bettas are fine, we should drop that issue.
Cracker, I don't know you very well, but I have heard good things, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt.
Being that I don't know you, I too, was a little distrubed by the toilet - bettas, so SoCalMom is not alone in this.
However, that being said, I think we should all learn to view the issue from both sides of the spectrum - New comer and oldbie, to really grasp the situation. :good:

I was really surprised when I saw the first post with the betta-toilet photo... but I have to admit, they look so damn good!! :hyper: you definitely know what you're doing :good: if I'd known that my betta could live in something like that, it would have saved me a lot of money  oh well.. as long as my little baby is happy

and.. I'm mexican, but not a "chicana" nor a fat belly dancer (which I haven't seen  ).. but maybe I can get some of those free bettas you mentioned before?? :hey: :p

Who cares, as long as we can have some of those wonderful bettas in them! :hey:

Everybody who is shocked about keeping fish in a toilet- did you miss the bit where Cracker said it was a spare unused toilet??? I mean, he is not using the toilet for its traditional purposes and never has, so how would it be unhygienic? Do you suppose toilet bowls come dirty from the manufacturers? Or that the bettas are going to suffer psychological problems because their home is toilet-shaped? As far as they are concerned, this is like any other container of a similar size. And if it has never been used then it's going to be as hygienic a container as you can find anywhere, much safer than a cheepo plastic bowl.

Also, the fact that the yard around looks untidy is hardly going to affect the lives of the bettas, as long as their water is clean. Probably a lot healthier for them than your average British home that's stepped in antibacterials and air fresheners- now that is unhealthy if you like, both for fish and humans.

This is not about protecting Cracker, but about using common sense. The one thing that is going to matter to those bettas is if they have enough clean water. And that seems to be the case. So I can't see what anyone is shocked. These bettas appear to have more room than the ones in the growout tanks featured in the PFK article about a successful betta breeder the other year, and I don't remember any outcries about that.
