I wasn't "shocked" per se
I was more taken aback at the condition of the toilet bowl and alley it was in. You have to be honest and admit that it is not clean
I don't think my post was immature and rude- I just could not understand how you can know that that toilet bowl was not clean. Have you tested the water? A brown tinge to the water does not indicate it is insanitary. Almond leaves are commonly used by betta breeders for its health giving properties, and it does tint the water, it's supposed to. On the other hand, a crystal clear tank can be absolutely deadly if ammonia or nitrites are present- and they don't make the water look dirty.
Again, I fail to see how the untidiness of the yard would affect the quality of the water. As I stated in my earlier post, an indoor location in a household that uses anti-bacterials and air fresheners is likely to be much more dangerous.
I am not basing my opinions on Cracker's popularity ratings, but am trying to use my fishkeeping experience. Which tells me that fish don't care about their surroundings looking pretty, they care about clean water and good food. And I don't see why you could not have those in a(n unused) toilet bowl. As I pointed out in a previous post, toilet bowls do not come filled with excrements from the manufacturers. If Cracker had posted a picture of himself doing his business in said bowl, it would have been a different matter....
Me too!!!
