are plants a rip off at you LFS?

I do get my plants from World Of Water, very good @ £1.75 a bunch (5-6 stems a bunch) or 6 plants for a £10. They do a good selection of Gaint Vallis, Twisted/corkscrew Vallis, Cambomba green 1) some other small foreground plants that i don't know the names on as it is my weakness

Have you tried Hollybush in Cannock, I believe their plants are a good price.

It varies depending where I go. At pets at home I've bought plants for £3.49 before whihc i thoguht was steep but I wanted that particular plant and couldnt find it anywhere else.

at my lfs they're 2.99 for potted plants and 75p for bunch plants. cheeky sod once charged me £5.49 for an anubias barteri cos he said it was "rare" but i didnt quibble cos it was big enough to divide and split between two tanks...also because that lfs deserves my money as thanks for their knowledge and good ways with fish.

but yeah I counted to value of plants in my (15 US gallon) tank and it was about £25. what i would recommend you do is get a few cheap fast growing bunch plants, your tank will look empty at first but they will soon fill it up. then you can add other types as and when yo uhave the money.

Hi, i bought my plants mail order from here, as the local pet smart prices were much more expensive, i bought the 18"/45cm Tropical Collection 4477 Min Number of 25 Plants Price: £5.75 plus £2.95 postage, i received 28 plants in the pack, this works out to £0.31 per plant, they were wrapped in wet paper, wrapped in bag and boxed

;)

Yep Hollybush are good at £1 per plant and you can generally split them to spread them out

They sell potted ones but they are around £1.95 I think but I forget as I only buy the bunches

Only problem is queuing to pay on a Sunday! I had to wait a while this afternoon :/
