I have two Oase Biomasters mark 2 filters i recently cleaned and silicone the o' rings on one of the filters when I noticed one of rings on the hose adapter was looking a bit perished. I had a spare adapter so I took of the very small rings and replaced them on to the filter. I then decided two replace the two rings I.looked the web and it was impossible to purchase them
you have to purchase the whole adapter. I was told by one store that oase don't sell these o' rings. So i had to purchase the adapter that I dont need. What a rip off two small rings would usually cost about two pounds. But i ended up paying 13 pounds sterling.

What about going to a hardware store or home improvement store for O rings?

I don't know what size those o rings are but garden centres also sell them for garden hose repair.

Auto supply places usually sell O-rings. I needed 5 for my leaking Eheims and came home with them this morning. For Aquarium related things you need to get the Buna-N O-rings, They are nitrile and safe for use in tanks. They are also available in a silicone ring but those are softer and the Nitrile is firmer and should outlast silicone.

However, the rings should be properly lubricated and for that the best option is a silicone lubricant. many of there are not 100% silicone and what must be avoided are petroleum products. I got the Ace hardware brand which is 90% silicone and the other ingredients are tank safe. I check everything before using it in a tank.
