I recently bought an API ammonia test and it came with a colour chart for both freshwater and salt water. The salt water test at 0 is a similar colour to the freshwater 0.25 level... So does this mean that the addition of aquarium salt in smaller quantities could affect the colour of the test??
I have two tanks, one of which has perfect stats and the other never goes properly yellow. If I didn't know better I would think it was 0 but compared to the other one you can see there is trace ammonia. It had aquarium salt in it - could this be the reason?
